It’s no secret, Toronto is home to one of the most robust film industries around the globe.

And with more and more productions taking place in the city, finding the right studio space is a must.

From big-budget to independent projects, we’ve compiled a list of all the best places to get your film on in Toronto (in no particular order).

What to consider when booking your studio:

1. The Dollars & Cents

Budget. While any creative can make the most out of even the smallest of them, your budget will often be the deciding factor with the studio space you rent out. Most studios will rent their space by the hour, so plan ahead to make sure you get the most out of every last minute in there.

2. How much space do you need?

Sure, we all want to shoot on the sound stages around Toronto that all those blockbusters were filmed in.

But sometimes smaller is better (and more manageable). So think about your set, crew size, and the equipment you need to execute, and how much space you need to do that.

3. The actual content

What are you filming? Do you need a green screen for special effects? A white cyclorama for that perfect interview or product shoot? Or are you looking for a place you can transform with set dec?

Toronto accommodates all types of shoots – even volume studios are cropping up in the area.

Check out the list below for our 13 studio picks around the city:
